Heat Treatment and Hard Coatings: Wallwork at MACH Stand 4685B

The Wallwork Group return to MACH with a greater breadth and depth of heat treatment and coating services to meet the exacting demands of modern engineering. In addition to expanding capacity through investing in buildings, plant, new processes and accreditations, the company has increased load size capability – in terms of both individual component size or batch quantity

Vacuum brazing has been expanded substantially with a new workshop in Manchester and a doubling in the size of the Cambridge unit. With additional Nitride hardening facilities the company is one of only a few in the UK able to offer salt, gas and plasma processes to provide the best technical result for each situation. Aerospace processing of aluminium and magnesium components has also been greatly expanded.

Wallwork Birmingham is the company centre for the processing of large components or bulk batches. The site houses modern vacuum heat treatment furnaces with capacities of four tonnes. A new high capacity Nitrider will come into service in 2016. Supporting these developments the company has installed the latest solvent spray/vapour de-grease washer.

Completing the picture, the company now provide an even greater choice of PVD and PECVD applied surface hard coatings and is also including other world class coating brands such as those from the German diamond coating specialist CemeCon alongside their own. These tool coatings meet an important role in improving productivity of composite machining operations by prolonging tooling life to give greater up-time and higher quality yield.

Wallwork serve clients in aerospace, motorsport, medical, nuclear and other demanding industries. Multiple quality accreditations from international bodies and industry primes underpin the service. This is further supported by a service culture that includes nationwide door-to-door collection and return services.

Experienced staff will be on stand throughout the show to demonstrate the full line of heat treatment, hard coating and development services now available to customers.
