Dedicated to improving manufacturing efficiency

Lifting Gear UK appoints sales and marketing director

Lancashire, UK-based Lifting Gear UK (LG UK) has named respected industry leader Colin Naylor sales and marketing director.

The business, which also includes the Lifting Projects UK, Steelwise and Lifting Gear Training UK companies, has grown year-on-year since formation in 2007 and now operates from 11 UK locations. Naylor brings a wealth of experience and proven capability not just in the European lifting industry but also in the popular multi-outlet rental model.

Marina Turner, managing director at LG UK, said: “Colin has a very impressive background in lifting and rental having led the return of LGH to the UK in the last four years. Equally his achievements and experience in a 12-year career with Speedy Hire across prominent directorial roles clearly demonstrates a capacity to operate at the very highest level in a successful business. It’s clear we share the same ethos that this industry is all about great service, wide equipment availability and a can-do attitude and, most importantly, equipping our team with the tools to deliver both excellence and efficiency.”

Naylor said: “What the existing LG UK team has delivered in the last 14 years, against the backdrop of a challenging and somewhat mature market, is outstanding. I am thrilled to be joining the business at this stage of its growth. I have been most impressed with the ownership of the business; they are hard- working and committed to growing their business in spite of the challenges we see. They’re lifting people and demonstrate a passion and confidence I have not seen in recent years. Refreshingly they are clearly dedicated to serving the UK market and this was the key ingredient in me accepting the opportunity to be part of their story.”

• LG UK provides hire, sales and service for a comprehensive range of lifting products and equipment. Lifting Projects UK specialises in heavy and bespoke lifting equipment, complex lifting solutions and contract lifting.
