The new Elcon single face metal detector from S+S Inspection is simple to install in existing and new conveyor belt and chute systems for the detection of magnetic and non-magnetic contamination up to 100mm high in both low volume and bulk applications. Installed under the belt or chute, the detector, requires no additional metal free zone and may be used as a belt bed plate.
Equipped with the Primus control unit, the detector is available with a range of audible and visual detection signals and may be combined with a conveyor stop or a reject mechanism signal for automatic operation. The control unit uses two-channel phase technology combined with digital processing and automatic self-calibration to increase performance reliability and consistency of metal detection whilst simplifying operation and increasing productivity. The auto-learn capability minimises set-up time and is especially effective when inspecting electrically conductive materials, including metal oxides and carbon black, in the plastics manufacturing industry.
The S+S Elcon is suitable for applications in plastics production and recycling, chemicals and timber industries. It is available in a range of standard sizes to suit most applications.
