Saint-Gobain Abrasives is adding to its exclusive range of Norton Quantum3 grinding and combination wheels with an all new, cost-effective range of professional cutting discs.

Specifically developed with operators in mind, the discs combine Saint-Gobain’s exclusive bonding system and ceramic grain, for better mix control during the manufacturing process.

By keeping individual ceramic grains from clumping together, the discs ensure a more even wear during use and a smoother action for the operator, allowing for a vastly improved cutting action. Operators will also notice a reduction in vibration when using the new cutting discs, which helps to combat fatigue and discomfort in their day-to-day work.

Norton Quantum3 cutting discs are available in two specific densities – 1.3mm for efficient cutting when working on thin or hollow materials, and 1.6mm for thicker materials and for an extended lifespan of the disc itself.

Ideal for a variety of operations such as maintenance and repair, metal fabrication and engineering, the impressive lifespan and performance of the Norton Quantum3 discs help save money, reduce waste and result in an improved finish for operators.

Derk Vruwink, Senior Product Manager at Saint-Gobain Abrasives adds: “The thickness of both the 1.3mm and 1.6mm discs enables the ceramic grain to work more efficiently and effectively. The thicker tolerance of the disc and the bond to grain ratio means you can feel the speed of the disc as it cuts through the surface material – meaning reduced effort is required from the operator.”
