TÜV SÜD Product Service has launched a certification mark service for machinery manufacturers in the UK. For the first time, manufacturers can apply for the TÜV SÜD Octagon Mark to prove that their machines fulfil safety and quality requirements.
Machines certified with the Octagon Mark are tested by TÜV SÜD’s independent laboratories while manufacturing facilities are audited annually to ensure consistency in quality.
A mark of quality, the TÜV SÜD Octagon Mark has been applied to a variety of products and machinery across the world for many years. This is the first time that UK machinery manufacturers will be able to use it to gain a competitive advantage through additional proof that their machines comply while offering machinery purchasers assurance that machines displaying the mark are safe, reliable and compliant.
“TÜV SÜD’s blue Octagon Mark is one of the most widely recognised certification marks in the world,” explains business director for machinery safety Paul Laidler. “For many customers it has proved invaluable in ensuring that their new products and machines are safe and can go to market in the shortest possible timeframe. Now machinery manufacturers in the UK can benefit from this competitive advantage for the first time.”
