Berkshire-based fulfillment specialist, Walker Logistics, has announced the appointment of Colin Blackall to the position of Senior Operations Manager.

Colin began his career in logistics in 1996 with Sainsburys and has held senior operations management roles with Entertainment UK, Ann Summers and 3663.

He joins Walker from Wincanton where he was responsible for the successful operation of a number of key accounts – including Morrisons and M&S.

The appointment of Colin Blackall is the first of what is expected to be several key arrivals at Walker Logistics in the coming months as the company seeks to strengthen its senior management team to keep pace with its growth plans.

Bob Montague, Walker Logistics’ managing director, commented: “We see the role of the Senior Operations Manager as vitally important within our company as we strive to sustain the levels of service and professionalism that our existing customers have come to expect and deliver a first class service to our new contracts.”

Colin Blackall commented: “There is a great of deal of difference in overseeing the processes and monitoring the efficiency of the workforce within a single client store and multi-client facilities such as those operated by Walker, but I am relishing the challenge and believe that my experience will help Walker to continue to develop its growing reputation within the fulfilment arena.”
