Yes indeed we really have lots of handles in stock ready for same day dispatch and delivery anywhere – our Online store presently lists 88 individual items including swinghandles, bridge handles, chrome, black, grab, knob lock, L and T handles in zinc die, polyamide and stainless steel – and then we have all the others that we don’t list on the Online store. Latches Protect against Vandalism and Theft
We believe that protection of enclosures against theft of contents and general vandalism continues to grow as a major issue for design and installation engineers, especially in light of increasing copper prices where cables and other copper containing components are at risk when installed in vulnerable public access areas. This has been recognised for some time and is addressed by our recent introduction of 2 new anti-vandalism handles – 1 stainless steel swinghandle, and a zinc die pop-out T handle.
In particular, the new 7-061NT IP65 stainless steel swinghandle is tested in accordance with DIN 1630 and features very narrow gaps to minimise access for simple tools like screwdrivers. Other features include a protective housing which prevents the lock cylinder from being pushed through, and a covered front to protect the cylinder. Flush design also minimises leverage from tools and is coupled with tough AISI 316L stainless steel construction which makes it especially suitable for use in extremely harsh environments.
Other anti-vandalism handles compliment the 7-061NT, for example the novel 3-145 retractable T handle in black finished zinc die. This is designed for two separate locks, a keylock (with a great variety of choice) and/or a padlock eyelet for superior protection against unauthorised access.
Combination IP65 1/4 Turn Locks
We really like these neat, attractive combination quarter turn locks – no keys to loose! The 1-125 series are water and dust tight to IP65, fully programmable and suitable for industry standard cut-out and cams, plus they feature a convenient O ring on the handle to improve grip.
Anti-Tamper Stainless 1/4 Turn Lock for Public Areas
Our intriguingly named “pignose bung lock” may just be the ultimate in vandal-resistant quarter-turn locks for roadside cabinets or other publicly accessible cabinets that need to stay secure.
The “pignose bung” is secured into place with a two pronged key which ensures that the inner lock is protected; while the rugged AISI 303 stainless steel body and bung offer little in the way of opportunity for vandals. Legitimate access is simply gained by removing the bung with its special key and using a normal key to turn the recessed hexagonal insert-with-pin. Both 90° and 180° rotation options are available on the “pig nosed bung lock”.
Surface-mount slam latch set with inside safety release
This latch is widely used for large size insulated enclosures, such as cold stores or containerised units, where a surface-mounted latch is preferable to avoid breaching the integrity of the door.
With slam action action against a roller striker, this system can be used on doors flush-fit against the frame, or offset between 35-70mm height. There is a glow-in-the-dark inside safety “punch” handle for emergency release.
Special Hygiene locks for wash down areas
The new range of hygiene locks from Dirak now includes a “standard” quarter turn lock plus an L version and a T handle as well as a compression lock – all in fantastically stylish designs with exceptionally clean lines – they are made of bright finished AISI 316L stainless steel and have distinctive blue silicone seals. We find they are of great value in all sorts of places which are regularly washed or otherwise cleaned down such as food processing, special hygiene areas, agriculture and similar.
“Food and Medical” stainless steel quarter turn locks to IP67 and IP69K
Our food and medical lock offering includes two specialist quarter turns in stainless steel with integral colour coded washers and extra smooth designs – both available ex-stock from our Online store.
The IP67 ref 7-081 quarter-turn lock is good news for cabinet suppliers to the food processing and clean room industry sectors. By virtue of its specialist SW13 insert and key arrangement the 7-081 minimises traps for dirt and biological material. This is achieved by use of a polished surface and smoothing transition radii, as well as water and dust tight dual O-Rings giving protection to IP67. Design is further enhanced by manufacture in AISI 316L stainless steel and availability of a range of cams to accommodate varying door to frame depths.
