Offering the chance to keep up to date with the latest legal issues and trends is Health & Safety North, which this year takes place at a new venue, The Bolton Arena, on the 9th and 10th of October.

Something new for this year’s event is the “Safety Dialogue’ Live Panel. The Live Panel offers visitors the opportunity to engage with debates surrounding the most significant issues, and this year the panel of experts will focus on the issues surrounding Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and specifically Face Fit testing for masks.

The regional event has also teamed up with NQA, a leading assessment, verification and certification body, giving one lucky visitor the chance to win a free iPad Mini! To be in with a chance of winning simply visit the Health & Safety Events website and register for free for the North event: www.healthandsafetyevents.co.uk

A free conference program, organised in conjunction with the British Safety Council, will address the very latest challenges in the safety sector. For example Kevin Myers, Deputy Chief Executive, Health and Safety Executive (HSE), will address the topic of ‘Progress on the Latest Health and Safety Developments’. This presentation will provide visitors with an up to date report on the latest health and safety initiatives and developments that have affected the health and safety industry over the last year.

Additionally, offering advice to those who may be face an HSE inspection or investigation is Chris Green, Partner Regulatory, Midlands, Weightmans LLP with a seminar entitled ‘An Inspector Calls’. The presentation looks to offer suggestions/advice to companies on what needs to be prepared and considered before an HSE inspection.

As well as the British Safety Council conference program there are other, more practical, seminars taking place. Visitors will be able to see vendors and event partners such as 3M and DuPont host practical seminars across the two day event.

Health & Safety North is supported by the British Safety Council, Safety Groups UK and recently announced that 3M Safety Solutions is to be the lead sponsor of the event. The event is also officially endorsed by the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM). Health & Safety North is free to attend but it is strongly recommend that visitors register in advance to facilitate speed of entry and for guaranteed seminar places as these are extremely popular.

The full timetable of the conference programme for the 2-day event is now up on the event website.
