The MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management course is the latest Hull University Business School programme to have been accredited to MCIPS standard with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
This means that graduates enrolled on the course will be eligible to apply for the extra, career-benefitting MCIPS qualification – with the addition of the MCIPS designation to their job title without the necessity of extra study for the CIPS graduate diploma – following completion of the course and three years of work experience in the procurement profession.
This joins the existing BSc Logistics accreditation gained by the Business School in 2011.
The MSc programme provides a thorough understanding of the management, planning and coordination of supply chains, an essential area which is key to the success of any organisation operating on a global scale.
Dr Riccardo Mogre, academic director of the MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Hull University Business School and a key player in achieving the accreditation said: “The CIPS qualification is critical for career development in the logistics and supply chain industry. While the Business School can provide cutting-edge academic education and preparation, CIPS is the authoritative industry lead body, with access to industrialists and practitioners familiar with real-life logistics and supply chain expertise.”
This is the Hull University Business School’s third link with CIPS as John Britton, managing director of BCG Bridgepoint, which is a tenant of the school’s Logistics Institute, is also Chair of CIPS Humberside branch.
