The new modular ADAPTA machine guarding system is manufactured by, and the latest product offering from, leading Italian industrial group, Satech. Both strong and lightweight , the modular ADAPTA system perfectly combines practicality and durability with the highest levels of security, particularly where the possibility of impact from forklift trucks and other industrial equipment is involved. These excellent, robust qualities are achieved by the use of a basic structure comprising a frameless 4mm panel manufactured from high-tensile, drawn steel wire, and strengthened by a series of transverse folds at regular intervals.
Modularity and flexibility
The panels of the ADAPTA system are connected to 60mm x 60mm uprights by high-strength nylon fibreglass retaining fasteners which are ergonomically shaped to facilitate quick and easy assembly of the system. Reinforcement ribs are fitted, allowing even greater stability to be achieved by connecting the panels to the uprights at the position of the reinforcement ribs. The uprights are fixed to high-resistance base plates (100mm x 200mm 8mm) which are designed to allow installation and dismantling to be carried out quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, in the event of unforeseen difficulties or changed configuration requirements, the frameless construction allows panel sizes and installation layout to be adjusted speedily on site.
Fast, efficient and secure installation of the robust mesh panels is achieved by the use of simple and easy-to-use connectors which fit securely to the uprights. Not only do these speedily fitted connectors lead to time, and therefore cost, savings during installation and commissioning, their very flexibility also facilitates fast and simple re-configuration of the system layout should this become necessary to suit the machinery being protected or a change to the amount of space available.
40% installation time savings
High-strength nylon-fibreglass fasteners are ergonomically shaped to facilitate quick and easy assembly of the system, which is practical and fast, with the resulting installation providing a strong, safe and secure solution. Time savings of 40% are achieved when compared to conventional systems, while the frameless panel design gives ADAPTA the flexibility to meet the requirements of all applications.
A captive bolt fastener design is employed, guaranteeing secure, safe and efficient assembly. The captive bolt design meets all relevant standards – including EN 953 + A1 ISO 14120 and Machinery Directive 2006/42/ CE.
Doors
To further enhance the appeal of the ADAPTA system, several different types of door design are available. Making for maximum installation possibilities, door configurations include single and double leaf variants, while opening widths can be selected from 700 mm to 3000 mm and fitted with or without upper guides. In addition to this flexibility, the company will produce doors to meet any specific customer requirement including special dimensions and also powered versions. The powered variants can be supplied with electro-mechanical or pneumatic motors. These options provide virtually limitless system design possibilities and serve to further increase the appeal of the Adapta system
Security
For added security, all doors of the ADAPTA system can be equipped with locks and micro switches to meet the safety levels required by each particular application.
