Go Geothermal and CTC UK has appointed Mark Burton, former Head of Renewables at Dimplex, as Sales & Strategy Director, based at its Retford office

The move marks a return to CTC, where Mark first worked with the premium Swedish made heat pump brand, between 2013 and 2015. During that period he acted as a full solutions provider, advising on the ancillary parts and additional components needed to get ground source heat pump projects off the ground.

From there, Mark spent ten years at Vaillant, widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading heat pump manufacturers, working first as Renewables Business Manager. Supporting housebuilding specification, national and regional new build developers plus retrofit MCS installations with also social housing providers in tackling fuel poverty.   Latterly holding a position as National Partnership Manager being responsible for transitioning some of the UK’s leading supermarket chains to heat pump technology, – including work alongside utility companies such as OVO and E.on.

Mark then moved to Dimplex, where he led the expansion of the renewables team.  His focus spanned heat networks and 5th generation heat network apartment systems, as well as commercial heat pumps for heating and cooling solutions.

Mark’s move from Dimplex to Go Geothermal and CTC UK brings a wealth of large-brand experience to the business, along with an in-depth understanding of the wider UK heat pump manufacturing landscape.

A true advocate of heat pump technology, Mark’s own home, close to the Retford office, has had a heat pump installed since 2011, giving him fifteen years of first-hand experience living with the technology he sells.

The renewables market has changed a lot since I first worked with the team, and I’m looking forward to helping Go Geothermal and CTC UK take advantage of where it’s heading next.”

Mark has long held CTC heat pumps in high regard, citing the Swedish manufacturer’s heritage and broad product portfolio. He has visited CTC’s factory in Sweden, where some of the team remembered him from his earlier role.

Mark brings significant experience of working with local authorities, social housing providers and the care home sector. Go Geothermal and CTC UK will be looking to build on this as it pursues larger commercial and housing contracts, an area where Mark’s background will be of particular value.
