How Robot Ready are You?

Ingredient handling and preparation currently costs UK food manufacturers up to 5% of their turnover. With the industry facing the perfect storm driven by the increase of the living wage, cost of human error and the need for more flexibility, the time is ripe for change. Join OAL, the University of Lincoln and ABB at the Food Manufacturing 2030 conference to learn, see and taste how this can be reduced to a fraction of current costs through the effective use of robotics, automation and artificial intelligence.

See, Taste and Learn about the Future of our Industry:

The event will take place on the 23rd May 2018 at the University of Lincoln’s National Centre for Food Manufacturing, Holbeach, an amazing facility dedicated to helping the food manufacturing industry and home to a number of OAL’s research and development projects.

You’re promised to be taken on a journey of discovery to see how OAL’s APRIL Robotics technologies such as their robotic cooking cell and newly launched robotic weighing are challenging paradigms and changing the way we handle and process raw materials which can have a major impact on your food factory. These highly advanced technologies will be demonstrated live throughout the event.

Hear from Industry Experts:

You’ll also get to hear from expert industry thought-leaders including Andy Riches, Operations Project Director from Billington Group, a major retailer and Steve Sanders Manufacturing Director from JPS whose manufacturing facility has been transformed in-light of them making the switch to a more automated factory. They will provide an insight into how the food industry needs to change by the year 2030 and encourage discussion and debate as we shape the future of our industry.

Commenting on APRIL Robotics, Andy Riches says: We believe that the use of increased automation and technology to provide enhanced control, accuracy and repeatability will have a massive positive effect on all three of these critical factors within this core business function.”

More industry-expert guest speakers are still to be announced.

Start your Journey:

OAL will also be showcasing their other technologies in the ‘brought back by popular demand’ group breakout sessions which will dive deeply into key technology trends shaping our industry including AI and deep learning, collaborative robotics, big data production analysis and ingredient handling solutions. This will include a Steam Infusion cooking demonstration, a patented technology which uses steam as the motive force to heat, mix and homogenise food products. Find out for yourselves why so many food manufacturers are swapping out their Steam Injectors for Steam Infusion.
