Diametric has used extreme testing to add the essential finishing touch to Apeks’ latest range of diving equipment.
The badging and branding specialist was tasked with producing three different domed badges for the world-class diving equipment designer and manufacturer diving regulator equipment, each signifying a different range.
With its commitment to providing the highest quality solution at the best value, Diametric recommended one Tufflex domed badge that could be produced in three different pantone palettes with the same tooling. This meant Apeks would be able to combine its requirements into the one order for all three badges and avoid the added cost of tooling three different badges.
Due to the extreme conditions the products would be in – ranging from freezing temperatures to extreme sunlight and salt water lakes to the plunging depths of the ocean – the badges needed to be incredibly durable.
Resin Tufflex doming was selected by Diametric as the best process due to the way it would reflect the light underwater and encase the screen printed logo, therefore retaining the impeccable precision of the image.
As experts in application and having experience across a wide range of sectors, Diametric recommended an automotive grade adhesive for the product, ensuring the branding would hold imperviously on the regulator, even after decades of use under water.
The badges were rigorously tested under varying conditions, with salt water, chlorine, sunlight and UV all among the armory of nature’s weapons being thrown at them.
With the prototypes passing every test, Diametric delivered the full order on time and on budget.
