Supply chain and logistics consultancy, SCALA, has reported expansion into new global territories including Australia, Turkey and France, after the business was successful in winning a raft of new international projects over the last two years.

Global projects now account for 30% of SCALA’s business activity, with a total of 21 new international projects having been secured during this period alone. This growth was largely driven by existing clients seeking guidance on their overseas operations or planned routes to international markets, following successful projects that SCALA delivered for them in the UK.

During this time, SCALA has provided international supply chain and logistics support across the US, Australia, Western and Eastern Europe, Turkey and China. Projects have been delivered in both the food and non-food sectors and have included supplier evaluations; route to market strategies; network optimisation; operational enhancement; and logistics service provider outsourcing.

The surge in demand that SCALA has seen for its global consultancy in recent years is being met by SCALA’s expert team in the UK, along with a selection of trusted, internationally-based consultants and partner organisations.

Phil Reuben, executive director at SCALA and managing director of SCALA China, said: “We’re extremely proud to work with a host of leading organisations here in the UK, so it’s great to see businesses coming back to us following successful projects to draw on our international capabilities.

“While global markets differ, the international value of our supply chain expertise is recognised – which is something that we’ve experienced first-hand through the success of SCALA China to date.

“In a fast-paced and increasingly globalised industry, supply chain synergy, flexibility and agility are more important than ever. We’re committed to providing the same quality service that our clients value with the right local knowledge, supporting clients with sound consultancy and solutions, while developing our partner base and breadth of local marketplace expertise.”

The news follows the announcement that SCALA appointed industry expert, Wolf Liebchen, to head up its US office earlier this year, while senior consultant, Chris Clowes, also joined the team in recent months to head up SCALA’s European projects. Chris is based in Dusseldorf, Germany, and has taken on responsibility for supply chain strategy and transformation projects across the continent.
