Leading polymer specialist,  igus UK, will be exhibiting its new e-spool energy-chain for the theatre industry for the first time at the ABTT Show in London.  Visitors to igus’ stand will also see live demonstrations of its high performance energy chains and cable management solutions and meet industry experts.

e-spool is a next generation compact cable management system that has been designed in response to customer demand for a solution that is more flexible than traditional cable drums. It enables users to guide many different cable and hose types, for example power, BUS, data and even fibre optics, in one single compact system.

The innovative e-spool is easy to install and robust, providing cables reliably in any direction for travels of up to 14m. Users can now benefit from a system that provides reliable operation for a wide range of lifting and moving applications.

Also on show will be igus’  zig zag energy chain, which is a vertical cable management system designed to save space.  The zig zag installation is achieved by reversing the links of the energy chain to allow a folding effect. This can be done several times, depending on the length of the energy chain and the space required. Once retracted, the system becomes very compact and the housed cables are protected with a minimum bend radius enforced by the energy chain.

igus supplies a wide range of energy chains for the theatre and entertainment industry, enabling theatre technicians to easily manage cables, and the company’s compact energy chains have proven particularly popular in lifts, stages and lighting rigs. The reliable energy chain solutions include unsupported cables and gliding energy chains for horizontal energy supply, hanging and standing chains for vertical energy supply, as well as solutions for rotating motion.

Experts from igus UK will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on selecting energy chains, and cabling assemblies for your own specific application. To arrange an appointment, please call Leanne Golding on +44 (0)1604 677240 or email lgolding@igus.co.uk
