Celebrating a year since the launch of ‘Wrap and Hold’, Kite will be positioned on Stand Q8
Kite Packaging, the UK’s premier packaging supplier, will be showcasing a range of packaging systems at the highly anticipated Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Show, held at FIVE in Farnborough, Hampshire.
Situated on Stand Q8, Kite’s S3 (Specialist Services and Solutions) team, comprising of several highly experienced and skilled engineers, will be on hand to help visitors with their business needs and queries. The team is responsible for launching some of the most innovative packaging systems on the UK market, and since it was established during the last quarter of 2013 has introduced four new systems to Kite’s large customer base.
This includes the successful implementation of the Kite Mini Air to the wider market, after a market-gap of smaller customers looking for a more cost-effective air cushion system was identified by the team. Mini Air was launched at a retail price of £599 in October 2013, and remains to be the lowest cost air cushion system on the UK market. With the ability to run nine different film formats, and small enough to fit on a desk or worktable, Kite has sold over 450 units since the launch.
Kite will also be celebrating one year since the launch of ‘Wrap & Hold’ at the exhibition. The universal packaging system, that combines a stretch wrapping machine with patented corrugated packs, was officially launched at last year’s Southern Manufacturing show, and since then has been tried and tested by Kite’s business customers.
The Wrap & Hold system has been highly praised by one of Kite’s large engineering clients, who have worked closely with the S3 division and are currently implementing the robust ‘platform pack’ in to their operation. The result has been a cost-effective and time-saving solution, fully tested and certified for shipping extremely heavy and high value engineered parts.
Kite will also demonstrate Air Shock at the show, a range of rigid, burst resistant air packs. Used for protecting fragile products, in particular electronic goods, and bottles the packs have been a huge hit with companies looking for a cleaner, cheaper and space saving alternative to polystyrene and foam fittings.
Finally, Enviropad – the newest system from the engineering division – will be playing a big part on the 6 x 3 stand. The paper void fill system is the fastest on the market, producing up to 3.8 metres of padded paper a second, and is significantly cheaper than many competing machines. Paper void fill is a huge product in the engineering industry, and Kite will be running its heavy duty paper on the stand to show how machinery and metal parts can be protected.
Kite Packaging’s key attraction is that it is a ‘one-stop shop’ for many businesses, with a well-established brand and a competitive edge in terms of products, from corrugated cartons to automated systems. Many of Kite’s customers are in the engineering, electronics, aerospace and manufacturing sector and the business is keen to attract similar customers at this year’s show. With a focus on saving costs, reducing pallet spaces and SKU’s, and ensuring the entire supply chain is affected in a positive way, a spokesman from Kite Packaging commented:
