Standard components specialist norelem now offers a range of lifting and round slings, suitable for use in material handling and lifting applications across a wide range of industries. Made from high strength polyester, these heavy-duty lifting slings offer a lighter, safer and more flexible alternative to standard chains and ropes.
Round lifting slings are ideal for use when moving highly finished or delicate equipment. The high-strength, endless polyester fibre strands are covered with a durable protective sheath, offering an abrasion-resistant surface which protects the goods in transit from being crushed or scratched. Their flexibility also means they can securely grip irregularly shaped items such as tubes. Flat slings also offer wide load-bearing surfaces which provide increased surface contact for heavy and large loads.
With a capacity of up to 5 tonnes, norelem’s lifting slings are extremely strong and offer safety benefits when handling heavy loads. CE marked in line with the European Machinery Directive, the breaking strength of the slings are fully tested to seven times higher than the rated Working Load Limit. The weight and flexible nature of the slings also make them safer and easier for workers to rig.
An economical alternative to rope and chain, lifting slings offer a long service life for a low cost. The durable polyester construction has low moisture absorption and is resistant to mildew and rot. This, coupled with a high UV resistance, makes them ideal for use in shipping and other outdoor applications. While many synthetic slings are not recommended for use in extreme temperatures, norelem’s products offer an extended temperature range from -40°C to +100°C.
“In overhead lifting, safety is paramount. While chain, wire rope and metal mesh slings can all be used to safely and efficiently lift a load, synthetic slings are a cost-effective alternative,” said Marcus Schneck, CEO of norelem.
“Our versions provide an extra level of protection for both the goods being moved and the operatives rigging the load. With a range of sizes, capacities and accessories, we have components that meet almost every manual handling requirement quickly and reliably,” said Marcus Schneck, CEO of norelem.
Part of a wider range of products which includes sling hooks and sling links, norelem’s range of round and flat lifting slings are available to order from THE BIG GREEN BOOK – a user-friendly catalogue which features over 60,000 standard components. The company has also recently launched a new webshop, with many of its components available for same day shipping.
