OMRON Corporation has been listed for the 5th straight year on the globally recognised Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), an SRI (socially responsible investment) stock price index.
The DJSI is a stock price index compiled by S&P Dow Jones Indices. It is used to assess the sustainability of the world’s major companies from economic, environmental, and social perspectives.
Of the 3,455 globally prominent companies evaluated in 2021, 322 companies were selected for the DJSI World Index. OMRON was also listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific) for the 12th consecutive year.
This time, OMRON was rated highly across the board for environmental, economic, and social criteria. In the Environmental dimension, OMRON is advancing its efforts to analyse the risks and opportunities that climate change can have on its business and disclose relevant information in accordance with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Guidance which it has supported since February 2019, while at the same time having various sets of its environmental data assured by independent third parties. In the Economic and Social dimensions, too, OMRON is forging ahead with disclosure of its initiatives to further enhance its transparency.
Going forward, while continuing to take into account economic, environmental, and social factors in all of its activities, OMRON will aim to link its business opportunities to both the attainment of a sustainable society and the enhancement of sustainable corporate values.
