German piping system specialist SANHA® has expanded their product range: The new press systems “Heavy Steel Press” and “Heavy Steel Press Gas” offer safe and economical alternatives to welding.
With the new press fittings, thick-walled steel pipes can be pressed in a time-saving way instead of being welded, avoid open flames and reduce energy consumption at the same time. The piping systems are suitable for heating, gases, cooling and various industrial applications.
Saving time: What more can you ask for?
Time savings of up to 60 % and less additional work compared to welding are good arguments for using the new press systems. Trained welders or certified subcontractors are often hard to find these days and the regular (re-)training adds up, too. On the other hand, press fit technology has been proven to be an effective and efficient alternative.
The press fittings offer additional safety through their special design – the sealing ring has a 200 % larger surface area than usual. While installers should still work meticulously and according to the code, this helps to ensure permanent tightness even if there are small remaining surface imperfections (within the tolerance range of EN 10217 / EN 10255).
A grip ring and a spacer are located in front of the sealing ring. They protect the sealing ring when the fitting is pushed onto the pipe. During and after pressing, the grip ring provides additional stability. The result: robust, long-lasting installations.
The “Heavy Steel Press” system with black EPDM sealing ring can be used for closed heating and cooling circuits, sprinkler systems and compressed air, among other applications. “Heavy Steel Press Gas” is equipped with a yellow HNBR sealing ring and is used for gases or heating oil, for example. Both are suitable for numerous applications in industry, commerce and residential construction or in power plants and local heating supply.
