Toyota’s safety campaign ‘Taking Care with Toyota’ expands during September to include a chance to win places on their Toyota Production System (TPS) training courses. During FLTA Safety Week, 24–30 September, readers can enter the prize draw to win one of eight available places and the first 100 entrants will be sent the brand new Toyota Forklift Safety Poster and a copy of the recently released Toyota Forklift Safety Guide.
Grant Taylor, quality and safety manager, Toyota Material Handling UK commented: ‘Although there have been improvements in the numbers of forklift truck related accidents, the numbers are still high enough to cause concern. Safety is a main concern for Toyota and all of our equipment is developed with safety in mind. As a distributor of materials handling equipment and partner to our customers, we feel that it is important that we help decrease the risk of accidents as much as possible.’
The Toyota Training Academy works with hundreds of forklift operators per year, working with people of all standards from novice to trainer and can adapt courses for those based at one of the Toyota Material Handling UK depots or those to be carried out on a customer site. The Training Academy also works with others involved within different areas of business on related courses; Manual Handling, Safety for Supervisors and the Toyota Production System.
Taylor added: ‘A key area for the campaign Taking Care with Toyota has been the development, production and free distribution of free resources which aim to decrease the risk of accidents across business operation. All of the resources that we have produced this year available from our website, our newest resource, the Toyota Forklift Safety Poster, has been specially produced for this week.
As the newest free resource the Toyota Forklift Safety Poster has been launched especially for National Forklift Safety Week highlighting 25 simple and useful tips for working safely with forklift trucks.
