Basingstoke based Gordian Strapping has announced the launch of two new RQ-8 automatic strapping machine models by its parent company, Strapack. 
Established in 1933, and celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2013, StraPack is a manufacturer of high-quality strapping machines and materials, serving shipping and packaging needs around the world. Innovative design and dedication to high quality have earned StraPack strapping machines a solid reputation as one of the most respected and reliable strapping machines found in world markets.
The RQ-8x and RQ8000 represent the evolution of one of StraPack’s most popular and longest selling models, the RQ-8, and reinforce the market leading position of the RQ-8 series. As well as offering new features as standard, the machines offer the same reliability, intuitive operation and ease of maintenance that the market has come to expect. Self-correcting technology, easy strap loading and auto re-feed are further features of the RQ-8 series, which is compatible with polypropylene strap from 5, 6, 9, 12, 15.5 mm. Ready to operate in under 25 seconds, the machine can be programmed to enter standby mode from 15 seconds to 5 minutes after the last strap cycle, thereby saving energy.
The new RQ-8x and RQ8000 offer strapping speeds of up to 55 and 64 straps per minute respectively, even with tension applied. Furthermore, the RQ8000 features as standard an integrated Foot Bar, for faster, two-handed operation, Adjustable Table Height (820 – 940mm from floor level) and a Cycle Counter to help plan the machine service schedule. Both machines feature direct drive tension motors for quiet operation and optimum reliability.
