Atlas Copco Compressors will be sponsoring The Skills Show 2012, the UK’s skills and careers event for young people interested in further education, vocational skills and apprenticeships. At the show, Atlas Copco will be promoting engineering skills on Stand 2001, located within the Engineering Zone, and will have experts on hand to speak to young people interested in the opportunities offered by a career in the compressed air sector with a truly international company.
Leen van Diggele, Atlas Copco Compressors’ general manager, said: “The Skills Show is a fantastic forum for young people to pick up and develop skills which will help shape their future careers. Atlas Copco is also keen to support young adults who are interested in engineering and the many exciting opportunities a career in the sector has to offer.”
The Skills Show 2012, which takes place on the 15th-17th November at the NEC, Birmingham, gives young people the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of skills competitions, awards and activities. Visitors also have the opportunity to see talent and skills in action as young adults from across the country compete in the WorldSkills UK competition, which includes varied disciplines from aeronautical engineering and electrical installation to beauty therapy and web design.
Young people who visit the show will also have the opportunity to try out new skills for very first time, meet employers, access careers advice and find out information about a wide range of apprenticeships, vocational skills and training courses.
