Conveyor Units has been manufacturing conveyors in the UK since 1963 and has developed the extensive UNI-XU range, which includes gravity roller conveyor, lineshaft driven powered roller conveyor, motorised roller conveyor, belt conveyors, pallet handling roller conveyors and pallet handling chain conveyors

By keeping up-to-date with design and manufacturing technology, Conveyor Units has been able to keep pace with market demands and can offer a solution to most handling requirements. As an alternative to the standard powder-coated finish, all are available produced from stainless steel as an option.

Flexible range

The latest product to be added to the Conveyor Units stable is the UNI-FLEX range. These flexible conveyors are said to be the ideal product for space saving and configuration changes. This is now a proven product, currently used in industries such as logistics, tyre handling, end-of-line packaging and distribution from trays of flowers to bundles of catalogues. UNI-FLEX is claimed to increase materials handling efficiency in loose loading and unloading by up to 50%, offering a rapid return on investments. UNI-FLEX Conveyors are available as either powered or gravity models, with a range of standard sizes from 450mm to 900mm wide and lengths from 3.75m (1.3m compacted) to 25m (8.63m compacted). For even greater lengths, connecting brackets are available allowing two or more conveyors to be joined in tandem, offering true ‘flexibility’.

Key features

Key features of the conveyors include SEW Eurodrive AC motors, motor overload protection, state-of-the-art steel electrical control cabinets, full steel conveyor construction and heavy duty lockable castors.

In addition to these features, there is a range of complimentary ancillary equipment available, to tailor individual conveyors to a given application. As a statement of confidence in this range of product, all UNI-FLEX conveyors and components are supplied with a two-year warranty as a standard.

For further peace of mind, Conveyor Units offers a demonstration facility which is available for product handling tests, to ensure conveyor suitability.

Purchasing options

Flexibility is a recurring theme, as not only is the design of the conveyor range flexible, the method of purchasing is also. Conveyor Units has now introduced a leasing option which is available in the UK. The powered units can be ‘leased to own’ which provides numerous benefits including: No capital outlay, leaving existing lines of credit intact; payments can be spread over the life of the asset; all payments are 100% tax allowable and VAT can be reclaimed on lease payments.
