Leading packaging materials and equipment supplier Packer Products is preparing to showcase machines from its comprehensive void fill range at the upcoming PPMA Show 2012, including a variety of carton shredders, and SpeedMan, an innovative new paper void-filling machine that was launched by the company earlier this year.
Based at stand E76, Packer will be displaying the modern paper filling system that provides a cost effective and environmentally friendly solution to void filling, dispensing SpeedMan paper that is made from 100% waste paper and fully recyclable.
The specially developed SpeedMan paper contains no optical brightening agents or refining media which could be harmful to health, and meets with pre-determined quality criteria and state of the art technological standards. With over an 80% market share in the packaging sector, recycled paper means no over-exploitation of forests, generating water savings and lowering energy consumption by approximately 60%. The CO2 emissions are also significantly reduced when compared to those of virgin paper.
Rapid void filling with minimum exertion achieves a maximum fill capacity that is approximately equivalent to 70 times the original volume of the paper, cutting down on storage space and costs. Changing a roll of paper takes only a few seconds, and the SpeedMan is immediately ready for use again.
SpeedMan is easily operated by foot pedal and the adjustable operating speed enables it to adapt to suit individual requirements and ensure maximum flexibility. Lightweight and mobile with slender dimensions, SpeedMan is easily integrated into even the most confined packaging space. The machine head can be freely pivoted and adjusted to achieve the perfect height and angle for almost any production or packaging requirement.

Also exhibited at the event will be Packer’s range of heavy duty carton shredders. Each machine instantly converts everyday waste paper, cardboard and corrugated board into highly effective void fill.
The dual action machines trim and simultaneously convert waste cardboard into flexible matting for wrapping or void fill providing optimum product protection against damage during handling and transit.
