HBM has launched its PMS pressure measurement gauges to capture transient pressure signals with rise times of 50 ns and pressure peaks of up to 10 kBar.

The pressure measurement gauges consist of a measuring grid made of manganin where changes in pressure causes changes in the resistivity of the grid. The PMS gauges have a very small mass and are very suitable for highly-dynamic measurement of pressure surges in liquids. Other typical applications include ultrasonic work or the analysis of explosive shockwaves.

Conventional pressure sensors are often larger and cannot usually respond rapidly to very fast and large pressure changes.

HBM offers the complete measurement chain required for such measurement tasks, together with the high-speed data acquisition system Genesis and the Perception software.
