The updated Linear range of compact length measuring instruments from Mahr comprises three models – Linear 100 (application range 0-100mm), Linear 800 (0-800mm) and Linear 1200 (0-1200mm), all of which are DN EN ISO 9000-compliant and capable of the fast and precise measurement of workpiece internal and external dimensions.
These Linear units are suitable for checking measuring devices such as micrometers, depth gauges and calipers. It is possible to switch from internal to external measurement at any time without needing to re-calibrate, with interchangeable anvils contributing to optimum part measuring versatility. Suitable for shopfloor use, the Linear range can put sub-micron measurement capability directly into the hands of the precision machinist when measuring both lengths and diameters. This capability allows multi-faceted tasks such as the measurement of gear ODs to be completed quickly and easily.
A damped measuring spindle with adjustable measuring force ensures measured results, both internal and external, are independent of the user and provide reliable and consistent data over the entire measuring range. With this in mind, the design of all three Linear models features a solid cast body to avoid stresses and twisting error.
Resolution is switchable (0.1µm, 1µm, 5µm), with measured values displayed on a Unitron twin-channel digital display. This 10-digit display has a large number of measuring functions and an RS 232 interface to transfer data to PCs.
