The Maintec 2013 Maintenance Person of the Year Awards are now open for entry. The brand new awards which are run in association with Engineering Maintenance Solutions, have been created to recognise and reward those who through the maintenance process have delivered real commercial benefits to their organisation. These benefits could be in the form of improvements in performance, such as greater output or reduced downtime, or financial gains such as energy savings.
The awards have two categories ‘Maintenance Person of the Year’ and, in support of newer entrants to the industry, ‘Maintenance Apprentice of the Year’.
The entrants will be assessed by a prestigious judging panel of industry experts. This includes Paul Sacker, Managing Director of Crimson Industrial Vision who says:
“At a time when all businesses are managing their costs very tightly, the management of maintenance can be crucial in ensuring profitability. Maintenance professionals have been the unsung heroes within a business for too long and they should receive due reward for their contribution to the efficient running of plant and equipment. I am delighted to be involved in these awards and would encourage companies to put forward their recommendations for Maintenance Person of the Year and Maintenance Apprentice of the Year”.
Exhibitors at Maintec, where the winners will be announced, are equally enthusiastic about this development. Entry is by nomination, the deadline for entry is January 11th, with the results announced at Maintec 2013 which takes place on 5-7 March at the NEC.
