Companies looking to make improvements within the workplace that will make a real difference to overall efficiency and profit levels, need look no further than Lean Academy 5.
The first Lean Academy was launched in July 2013 by Hampshire-based Lean Business Specialists Fedden USP in conjunction with MIT Skills. It proved to be very popular with manufacturing and engineering companies and those within the horticulture industry, with places filled quickly on the first and every subsequent course. As a result, Lean Academy 5 has now been launched with places currently available in the Portsmouth/Southampton region, commencing on 20th November 2014.
The Lean Academy aims to train individuals to become lean champions and facilitators geared with the life-long skills, knowledge and confidence required to make significant changes that will benefit businesses in their ongoing journey towards continuous improvement.

However, more importantly, how to sustain these improvements and continue to make changes that benefit the organisation, its people and its end-users/customers is far more difficult and this is where the Lean Academy can help.”
This off-site course consists of a five day Lean Theory Workshop, which will take place on 20th November, 18th December, 22nd January 2015, 19th February 2015 and 19th March 2015. This will be followed by eight days of mentoring to help participants deliver three improvement projects within their own business. If successful in one of the projects, for example with typical company savings in excess of £30,000 per annum, a nationally recognised qualification will be awarded by EAL – a Lean Operations Business Improvement Techniques (BITS) NVQ Level 2.
The programme is heavily funded by the Government and the cost per delegate could be as low as £100 depending on the funding qualification of the individual.
