Safeware Quasar launch next series of Dangerous Goods Awareness Training Courses

Safeware Quasar hosts a variety of training courses to support the chemical industry and their next series of Dangerous Goods Awareness Training courses has begun at the company’s purpose built training centre in Nottingham.  The course is essential for any company that deals with dangerous goods and addresses some vitally important issues to ensure compliance with chemical transport regulations.

It is a requirement, under UK law, for anyone involved in the handling and transportation of Dangerous Goods to be familiar with chemical transport legislation by undergoing general awareness training appropriate to their duties.

These regulations implement recommendations which have been developed by the United Nations Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods to ensure that the risks to people, property and the environment are minimised when transporting hazardous materials.

John Stewart, Safeware Quasar’s DGSA, explains: “Over the years, we have come to learn that some organisations operating in the chemical sector are not always fully compliant with chemical transportation regulations. This is usually a consequence of a deficiency in regulatory knowledge or a complete lack of awareness of the regulations altogether.”

“If your company manufactures, packages and/or transports chemical products, it is important to note that failure to understand your legal requirements, and to implement processes to manage compliance, could mean encountering transit delays, prosecution and even financial penalties. Safeware Quasar will help you to understand your legal obligations.”

It is important to note that the regulations state all persons involved in the handling and transportation of Dangerous Goods are required to undergo general awareness training. The Safeware Quasar Dangerous Goods Awareness Course has been designed by the in-house Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors (DGSAs) to satisfy this requirement.

The course provides delegates with essential knowledge of the chemical transportation regulations, how they are affected, and offers guidance on how to comply correctly.
