We are excited to announce that the latest, much anticipated additions to the AMETEK Land, Infrared product range has arrived!
The new range of thermometers now includes 8 models including single and multi –wavelength models plus fibre-optic variants for all models. The System 5 SPOT range of fixed, single point pyrometers set a new standard for usability, with on-board processing capabilities, a separate signal processing device is not required.
Operating at wavelengths including 1µm, 1.2µm, 1.5 µm and 1.6µm the System 5 SPOT range meets all the needs of applications between 250 to 1800°C/482 to 3272 °F.
The System 5 SPOT range is perfectly suited to cover wide ranging industrial applications including: Steel (Hot Rolling Mill, Rougher, Finisher, Caster Exit, Reheat Furnace , Crop Shear & Conveyor), Glass (Melt Tank & Port Arch) Metal Forging (Rolled Rings & Forge Press), Metal Heat Treatment (Induction Hardening), Cement & Lime (Burning Zone), plus many others.
There is a simple user interface integral to the thermometer for local setup and configuration (including spot size and focus distance, live target temperature, emissivity, alarms, plus measurement range etc…). In addition, the instrument has an in-built visual camera to aid target alignment. Configuration can be achieved remotely over the internet via the dedicated web browser or SPOT Viewer software.
All models are available in a choice of remote focus (for control room use) or applications where site access may be restricted to routine maintenance periods.
The size and shape of the SPOT design means it can easily replace existing installed thermometers.
SPOT thermometers use a patented green LED for sighting (no laser safety issues) to confirm spot size and focal length simply and accurately. The Fibre-optic variants use a red LED to focus on the target. All SPOT thermometers offer a combination of Ethernet, Modbus TCP, Video and Analogue (Input and Outputs) as standard. All the expected measurement parameters including Averaging, Peak Picking, Mode Master and Background Compensation are standard on all models.
