Thorite, the UK’s biggest independent distributor of pneumatic products and process systems, has successfully completed a major contract to install a complete compressed air pipework system in Norgren’s new 104,000 sq ft Engineering Advantage Centre at Fradley Business Park, near Lichfield in Staffordshire.

The six month contract, awarded by main contractor Clegg Construction, comprised the installation of various pipework ring mains able to carry pressures of between 7 and 400bar to every part of the new facility, which is now in full operation. The 7bar air supply provides general compressed air and supplies production equipment including air guns and general machinery, while the 400bar compressors are used in the Development Area for functions including destructive testing.

Sean Howley, Norgren’s project manager, is pleased with the way the project was handled and said: “Thorite carried out the installation at our Fradley Engineering Advantage Centre within the timescales planned and is a thoroughly professional company to deal with”.
