A UK manufacturer says there is an increased demand for certain British-produced goods abroad, following an appearance at a global automotive exhibition.
Industrial nameplate and logo specialist, Diametric, attended The Global Automotive Components and Suppliers Expo in Germany last month as part of its drive to branch out into the European and worldwide market.
Graham Steele, Diametric’s automotive specialist, said the atmosphere among visitors and exhibitors was a sign of the industry’s buoyancy.
“So many of the OEMs and design consultants we spoke to were talking about the numerous projects they were working on so it’s clear that the automotive manufacturing industry is bucking the trend.
“What was interesting was that before the event we aired our belief that product designers and manufacturers from mainland Europe and further afield are looking to UK based badging specialists and this was proven at the event. The fact that we are in the UK almost appeared to be a selling point to visitors to our stand and we did seem to draw more interest than other manufacturers at the exhibition from countries such as China.
“Perhaps this is another sign that Britain really is leading the way in this very detailed form of product badging and branding.”
Diametric, which designs and manufactures badges for brands such as Jaguar, Triumph Motorcycles and Aston Martin, secured a number of strong sales leads at the three-day exhibition.
The Global Automotive Components and Suppliers Expo is one of the largest, most comprehensive exhibitions dedicated to vehicle technologies.
