Compressor manufacturer, Hydrovane, part of the Gardner Denver Group, has become the driving force behind world-renowned television programme ‘Wheeler Dealers’ – thanks to an Air Solution compressor that is being used in its new series.

The machine has been supplied for the 12th series of the show that is broadcast to over 200 million people in 220 different countries and is famous for buying, restoring and then selling classic cars.

The Air Solution featured on the programme is the latest product from Hydrovane’s range of compressors that are manufactured in the UK. The system combines a silenced rotary vane compressor with a range of ancillary equipment including an air receiver, dryer and in-line filtration in a fully integrated package.

Edd China, Mechanic and Co-Presenter of Wheeler Dealers discusses the installation:

“During filming, we’re typically running to a tight production schedule and we can’t afford for any equipment to break down. Our compressed air supply is no exception as it powers an extensive range of air tools and pneumatic equipment that we rely on continually.

“The Air Solution is perfect for our needs. It combines Hydrovane’s proven compressor technology, with all the ancillary equipment needed for a clean and dry air supply, in a compact package.  So rather than sourcing these different components from separate suppliers, we can have one point of contact for the complete machine, saving us time and hassle.

“It’s also very energy efficient with low noise levels which means we’re able to work beside the compressor without the machine causing any disruption to filming.”

Andy Webb, Product Manager for Hydrovane adds:

“A reliable supply of air in any industry is a given. Compressed air in the automotive industry operates many tools such as nut runners, spray guns, tyre guns and cleaning unite. Without these tools working effectively then many aspects of the mechanical work cannot be completed so causing delays in process time.

“All Hydrovane machines are designed to save energy, reduce costs ad minimise downtime. The Air Solution is available with a regulated-speed option that adapts continually to meet air demands, offering lower production costs and improved efficiency.

“Ease of maintenance has been considered at every stage of the Air Solution design, with easy-access components to ensure routine service times can be kept to a minimum. All packages are also available with Hydrovane’s Advance 10 year extended warranty.”
