In response to the growing demand for high quality heat interface units (HIUs), manufacturer of fluid, heating and pump systems Dutypointhas launched the new Element range.

As part of the government’s strategy for achieving low carbon heat targets, community heating is on the rise in the UK and the market has grown to £350m from £76m in just a year. HIUs are the interface between these community heating schemes and their users, providing an energy efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional individual combi boilers in multi-occupancy buildings.

The Dutypoint Element range of solo source HIUs is fully WRAS Approved and uses the latest high-quality purpose-built components to ensure safe, reliable, consistent hot water and heating in individual dwellings.

With no gas supply necessary, Element HIUs also provide greater energy and environmental efficiency through eco-friendly temperature control from a centralised heating plant which can be powered by renewable energy sources. This also negates the need for ventilation routes, reducing installation time and cost and enabling a more aesthetically pleasing building exterior and better use of valuable interior space.

Element HIUs also feature first fix connection rails so all pre-plumbing can be completed prior to installation. Heating circuits therefore remain free from debris and contractors can stipulate a later delivery and payment date that best fits with the project timeline.

Once installed, the small and virtually silent units are demand-controlled so water only flows through the unit when it is required for hot water or heating. This helps to reduce heat loss and limescale build-up resulting in significantly longer service life. Occupants of each dwelling also have full temperature control, providing greater comfort and on-demand heating and hot water.

Robert Freeman, Dutypoint Director, says; “We’ve designed the Element range to maximise the benefits that HIUs can bring for architects, specifiers and developers as well as end-users. We only use high quality components that are designed and manufactured specifically for HIUs in large apartment complexes. The Dutypoint difference is that our experienced team can also provide expert advice and system design solutions with customised configurations that are outside of our standard range to meet challenging requirements.”

Each highly-efficient unit is configured by Dutypoint’s technical experts to meet the unique specifications of each project, offering options including built-in metering, wireless usage monitoring and variants for radiators or underfloor heating. Every Element HIU is supplied factory-assembled and fully tested to ensure optimum performance, reduce commissioning and maintenance time and costs.
