Visitors to Brady’s stand at the Safety & Health Expo from May 15th to 17th will be able to get answers to a variety of safety signage related questions, or if companies perfer they can book a site visit with a view to setting up an easy-to-implement solution. Here, Brady’s Liz Gallagher discusses the options

A story caught my eye recently regarding the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) bringing a successful proactive prosecution against a specialist food factory for failing to adequately protect its workers. This kind of court case will no doubt become more frequent as accident prevention becomes the driver. The frustrating thing is that it is far quicker, easier and more streamlined to ensure that a written procedure is in place to ensure compliance. I spend a lot of my working time visiting clients on site visits. These are totally free  with no obligation to have one of the expert Brady team visit  your facility and support fast, easy to implement solutions.

Our site visits are extremely productive and we often collaborate with our clients in order to set up procedures which are aimed at maintaining optimum production and compliance with safe working to ensure all employees are protected. I don’t like to boast obviously, but we are lucky to have some of the biggest names in industry as our clients and while I won’t mention names it’s fair enough to state that whether you’re involved in space travel, underwater exploration, diamond mining or arctic expeditions you’ll know Brady and have used our products. These examples are of extreme activities Brady supports globally, thankfully most of our clients tend to operate locally (UK)  making visiting a little easier.

Shows are a great opportunity to have some really good one to one meetings – we’re there to suggest solutions, so why not bring your queries along

I’m hoping that visitors to the Safety and Health Expo at the NEC this year  will take up the same offer to discuss any safety signage or identification concerns they may have by popping along to Stand 10 in Hall 1.

As well as the opportunity to win a BBP 31 printer everyone is welcome to ask their very own expert questions on any safety matter from new legislation to pipemarkers, DIY sign printing, which lockout tagout product to use and spill control mats, kits and materials. We’ll have examples of a huge range of our solutions ready for live demonstrations of how easy life can be with Brady. Shows are a great opportunity to have some really good one to one meetings. We’re there to suggest solutions, so why not bring your queries along? Just refer to the Ask the Expert article and we’ll have a safety padlock out of our new range as a welcome gift for you.

If you can’t make it to Birmingham for the show, why not visit www.brady.co.uk/safety and book your own free-of-charge site visit? Who knows what it could save you in terms of time, production, injury and cost in the long run?

The case I opened this month’s column with just goes to prove that safety is, I’m sure, number one on any improvement priority list. Any accident, injury or health problem will have a big impact not only on production, brand perception and reputation but also on workforce morale so why take the risk?
