Employees at rotary vane compressor manufacturer Mattei have raised money for two worthy causes. Service engineer Adrian Davis ran the London Marathon and raised £300 for Cancer Research UK. He completed the marathon in four hours and 59 minutes and is planning to enter the ballot for a place in the 2012 event.
Lee Lodge, also a service engineer at Mattei, took part in the Heather’s Cycle of Life, contributing to the overall total of £23,000 raised. Lodge, a keen cyclist, joined the sponsored bike ride to raise money for the Bobby Moore Fund set up following the England footballer’s battle with bowel cancer to also raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Andy Jones, general manager of Mattei, applauded their efforts; “It is great to see the team from Mattei supporting charitable causes and undertaking gruelling tasks to raise much needed funds for these charities.”
