ULMA Packaging UK has further bolstered its presence in key packaging machinery markets with the hiring of Bill Anderson as its Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Bill, who has enjoyed a 38-year career in capital equipment and material sales and is highly experienced in shrink and skin packaging applications, will help meet burgeoning demand in the region for packaging solutions. His remit will involve assisting customers across Scotland and Northern Ireland in accessing ULMA’s extensive range in the produce and non-produce sector, with specific focus on food and medical applications.

Commenting on his appointment, Bill said: “I am very excited to be starting this new role at a pivotal time for many industries. As we’re emerging from a global pandemic, organisations are now realising a need to replace existing machines, or invest in new equipment to keep up with demand and adapt to rapidly changing marketplaces.

“The fact ULMA has the widest portfolio of packaging machinery, including VFFS, HFFS, traysealer and thermoforming solutions, means the company is well-placed to meet this huge variety of packaging demands and offer future-facing innovations. I am delighted to be joining a vastly experience team and demonstrating the sustainability, reliability and efficiency of ULMA’s solutions when catching up with customers old and new.

Ed Williams, Sales Director at ULMA Packaging UK, comments: “An industry-leading machinery range needs an industry-leading sales team, so we’re delighted to have brought Bill on board. With his extensive experience and track record in machinery and consumables, he fits the bill to spearhead our efforts in the Scottish and Northern Ireland territories.

“Ensuring operations are optimised to meet the boom in demand multiple sectors are anticipating will be key to ensuring long-term success for many companies. Packaging is a key part of this overall strategy, with marginal gains able to be replicated at economies of scale with a similar effect on business bottom lines.

“Both Bill’s regions therefore have enormous growth potential, so his appointment is fantastic news at just the right time for ULMA. Meeting the demands associated with this growth trajectory will be crucial to ULMA’s ongoing success, and we are confident Bill is up to this challenge.”
