The Secretary of State for business, innovation and skills, Vince Cable, recently visited the factory of the Brecon-based conveyor manufacturer, Nerak Wiese, in a bid to help dispel that myth that Britain does not make anything anymore.

The Liberal Democrat MP was accompanied by the local MP and fellow Lib Dem, Roger Williams, as he toured the manufacturing facility on 27th August and was shown the advanced production systems employed at the site. Nerak Wiese designs, manufactures, installs and supports conveyor solutions for a diverse range of clients, including blue-chip brands such as the retailer, John Lewis, and the confectionery companies, Wrigley and Cadbury.

Commented Simon Musgrave, sales director for Nerak Wiese, “We were delighted to welcome Vince Cable and Roger Williams and proud to have been selected as an example of British manufacturing at its best. As well as supplying logistics projects here in the UK, our products are also exported to China and the Middle East. The formula for our success is a combination of cutting-edge techniques that minimise production costs and a focus on service to support our customers from the concept stage right through to system handover.”
